Hunters will be hunting from a combination of ladder stands, hang on stands and ground blinds, depending on comfort level and weather conditions. Whitetail hunting is done along the river bottoms of the Little Missouri River. Tree stands are hung from large cottonwood trees which helps conceal the hunters. Ground blinds are placed in strategic locations, next to well used trails, funnels, crossings and food plots.
One large benefit in hunting whitetails in the badlands area is elevation. Scouting the many miles of the Little Missouri River bottoms is done from a high vantage point. Many stands and blinds are placed in locations allowing long distance scouting by way of spotting scope and binoculars. This allows us to monitor the deer’s movement while not interrupting or disbursing their natural patterns or create any unwanted human odor. Numerous trail cameras are also utilized on the property allowing us to better pattern our bucks. Scouting is our most important tool for ensuring hunters the best opportunity at a trophy buck.
